Spotlight on You

The HOPE Foundation is a proud supporter of Northern Stage and its work to bring the arts into our communities. In these times of limited school budgets, exposing young people to the cultural richness of live theater by providing student tickets is more important than ever, and something Hypertherm strives to do as we work to inspire creativity among our next generation of citizens.
— Stacey Chiocchio, Hypertherm’s corporate social responsibility project manager

Northern Stage is blessed with a vibrant family of supporters — individuals, businesses, foundations all support our mission to change lives, one story at a time. We’re turning the spotlight on you and asking you to take a bow for all you do to ensure Northern Stage thrives and contributes to our region’s high quality of life. Please share your stories and reasons for giving by e-mailing Spotlight@northernstage.org.

Spotlight On: Hypertherm Owner’s Philanthropic Endeavors (HOPE) Foundation

Northern Stage is enormously grateful to the HOPE Foundation for being one of the first and most stalwart supporters of our Student Ticketing Programs. Each season, these programs provide highly subsidized tickets for any student, of any age, to any performance ($15 Student Tickets Program), as well as a Student Matinee Series for larger high school and middle school groups.

Northern Stage honors Hypertherm’s commitment to sustainable and positive change in our community. Live theater is an irreplaceable force in the cultivation of a shared sense of humanity. The bonds that connect us are never more apparent than when we are able to share a moving experience, and it is these bonds that build the foundation for a more positive, and ultimately, more connected society.

Through our Student Ticketing Programs, we are able to remove the barrier of expense that prevents many people from engaging with theater. We hope to cultivate young audience members who will continue to be arts patrons in the Upper Valley; we hope to provide them with a resource that may be applied to all aspects of their lives; we hope to inspire them to effect positive and creative change in their communities. We thank Hypertherm and the HOPE Foundation for their long-standing and generous support.

The Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors (HOPE) Foundation was founded in 2010 as a public grant-making non-profit 501(c) 3 foundation to formalize the U.S.-based financial giving we had been doing for decades across a handful of focus areas. A dozen volunteer Hypertherm Associates, representing a cross-section of areas within our company, comprise the HOPE Team and make all grant allocation decisions on behalf of the Foundation. We have similar shared decision-making HOPE teams in all our regional offices, each serving their respective communities.

Our HOPE teams have awarded millions of dollars in grant support to hundreds of non-profit organizations working on our shared mission of creating sustainable, positive change in the community and environment. Stacey Chicchio, Hypertherm’s corporate responsibility project manager, states, “The HOPE Foundation is a proud supporter of Northern Stage and its work to bring the arts into our communities. In these times of limited school budgets, exposing young people to the cultural richness of live theater by providing student tickets is more important than ever, and something Hypertherm strives to do as we work to inspire creativity among our next generation of citizens.”
