The educational programs at Northern Stage seek to engage local students of all ages in exploring the world of theater while challenging their beliefs about the world around them. We meet each student at his or her own level and seek to build confidence, knowledge, and a love of theater in a professional environment. We hope that participating in classes and workshops at Northern Stage will help make theater a meaningful part of lives now and in the years to come.

SUMMER MUSICAL THEATER INTENSIVE
For Northern Stage’s Summer Musical Theater Intensive CLICK HERE. This program is designed to extend the professionalism of our main stage to young actors, ages 12-18. New this season, we are launching our Technical Apprentice Program (TAP) for students ages 14-18 to train and inspire technical theater artists of the future.
YES members will participate in training workshops led by Broadway and national artists, group nights at the theater with exclusive post-show conversations with the artists, and will perform a children’s play on our main stage as well as several touring shows. $500 season membership.
Northern Stage offers school-time matinees of selected professional productions. Student’s imaginations are nourished under the lights and action of full-length productions at a discounted price. Before the show, students receive a study guide to use at a talk-back with professional actors immediately following the performance. Generously sponsored by the Hypertherm Owner’s Philanthropic Endeavors Foundation and support from Northern Stage donors.
Success in business means finding comfort in uncomfortable situations and building a highly effective team. The Spot-On series will be a free one-hour conversation between the audience and expert guests highlighting contextual themes in a production. Usually scheduled prior to a Sunday performance, the goal of this event is to promote and provide a place for dialogue among audience members, theater professionals, and experts brought in to expand on specific themes found in our productions. We hope our audiences walk away from these lectures with a deeper understanding and enjoyment of our main stage productions.
Northern Stage is proud to partner with OSHER@Dartmouth for life-long learning workshops designed to bring you closer to the craft and artists of Northern Stage. Visit OSHER’S website to view registration deadlines and details.
