Amir Kapoor is a successful Pakistani-American lawyer who is rapidly moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots. Emily, his wife, is a white artist whose work is influenced by Islamic imagery. When the couple hosts a dinner party, what starts out as a friendly conversation escalates into something far more damaging. Winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize.

Disgraced Spot On Conversation: “Muslims in America: History and Representation After 9/11”Join us for a conversation with Dr. Tarek El-Ariss, Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Dartmouth College, as he shares thoughts and observations on our production, including the play’s portrayal of Muslim American relations in the post 9/11 world and how this fits into the current climate of the Upper Valley and the United States. Dr. El-Ariss will touch on identity politics and the affirming of religious identity for the individual. A question and answer session with the audience will follow the talk.
