Adapted from Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale, this Disney classic will delight Northern Stage audiences of all ages. Mermaid Ariel is fascinated by the world and lives of people on dry land and longs to someday join them though her father, King Triton, forbids it. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, this beautiful tale of love will capture your heart with its irresistible songs including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”

Please Note: This production contains strobe, fog, haze, and smoke effects.

Run Time: Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission

Age Advisory: Recommended for ages 5 and up

Please note: Age advisories are subject to change as our productions go through the rehearsal process. Each parent and child is different; please use your own discretion when deciding what is right for your family.

As a general rule, children under the age of 5 are discouraged from attending the theater. If you have a very well-behaved young child, we trust your judgment in bringing him/her to the theater. Please note if your child causes a disturbance to other theater goers (crying or talking during a performance), we reserve the right to ask you to step out of the performance with your child. In this instance, we will happily transfer your ticket to another performance within the production. We also ask patrons booking tickets with the intention of bringing a young one to sit close to an aisle seat for easy exit during a performance if needed.

$15 Student/Child Anytime Tickets are sponsored by The Couch Family Foundation and Hypertherm Owner’s Philanthropic Endeavors (HOPE) Foundation.
