The educational programs at Northern Stage seek to engage local students of all ages in exploring the world of theater while challenging their beliefs about the world around them. We meet each student at his or her own level and seek to build confidence, knowledge, and a love of theater in a professional environment. We hope that participating in classes and workshops at Northern Stage will help make theater a meaningful part of lives now and in the years to come. Northern Stage offers two internship programs for Dartmouth students – the Experiential Term (or “E-Term”) is designed to give current undergraduate students the opportunity to gain experience working in a professional theater during an off-term, while the Post Graduate Internship is a year-long position to help recent graduates transition into working in a professional theater environment.
Northern Stage’s internships are designed to provide students a supportive environment in which to learn about all aspects of creating theater. Our Summer Internships are 6 – 8 weeks in June/July while Short Term internships can be structured around school vacation schedules. Interns are in college or recently graduated. We accept 1 – 3 people for Summer Internships, and other Short Term Internships are accepted on an as-available basis.
