Parking and Access – Accessible parking is located next to our Administrative & Production Building (76 Gates Street). There are four spots reserved for accessible parking. The main and side entrances to the Barrette Center for the Arts (74 Gates Street) are wheelchair-accessible. The building has wheelchair-accessible restrooms on the first floor and an elevator to take patrons to second floor seating.

Accessible Seating – If you would like accessible seating, please call the Box Office (802-296-7000). We hold special seats to accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and hearing and sight challenges. Reserved seating is located in the front row of both side sections and in the top row of the center section. For wheelchairs, we remove two connected theater seats to accommodate one wheelchair. The seats are as follows: A102/103, A104/105, A302/303, A304/305, H202/203, H204/205, H208/209, and H210/211. We would love to speak with you before you book your seats to make sure you are comfortable!

Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) – T-Coil and FM style ALDs (headsets and neck loops) are available for free checkout at the Box Office. These devices include a battery pack that connects to our audio system in the sound booth to amplify all performance sounds. The packs have a standard headphone jack and are compatible with most headphones. Our headphones have foam earpads and are worn behind the head. Patrons are welcome to bring their own headphones from home to use with our ALDs or use our provided sets. Please note: actors typically only use microphones for musicals, but ALDs still work for plays.

Service Animals – Service dogs or ponies required for a disability are allowed in the theater. Please alert the Box Office if you plan on bringing a service animal, so that we may notify stage management.

Large Print Programs – Select materials may be made available in large print by request. Our standard large print is 18-point font, but please let us know if you need a different font size. A minimum of two weeks’ notice prior to the desired performance date is required in order to arrange this service.

Sensory Friendly Performances – These are designed to create a welcoming environment for all, including people with sensory sensitivities, autism, and other developmental conditions.

Theater Tours – Tours of the theater to accommodate accessible needs are available by request. A minimum of two weeks’ notice prior to the desired performance date is required in order to arrange this service. Please contact boxoffice@northernstage.org to arrange a tour.

Access For All – Patrons with a current EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) Card or with a bank statement that reads “3VTDeposit” may register with the Northern Stage Box Office and receive $5 tickets (plus VT Sales Tax) to any main stage or education performance, subject to availability. Limit 4 tickets per production. Access for All is good for one year from date of registration. EBT Card must be presented to Box Office in person to register. Due to the verification required, these tickets are only available over the phone or in person after registration, not online.
