YES (Youth Ensemble Studio), Jr. is designed for students with a passion for theater in grades 4 – 6. Throughout January and February they will meet twice a week for Yes Jr. Academy classes to prepare for their February Vacation Show. Over February vacation week, they will rehearse and perform a 30-minute play that focuses on acting technique. Students in this program will also attend 3 days at the theater – 2 YES productions and 1 Main Stage Play. This is the perfect program for young thespians who love to perform.

YES JR. STUDIO PROJECT
The Ugly Duckling

Synopsis: This classic fairy tale tells the story of a baby bird who, when hatched in a nest of ducklings, is ridiculed and ostracized because they think he is ugly. He leaves in search of a place where he can belong, encountering colorful characters throughout his journey. Eventually, he meets up with a group of swans, and realizes that he too is beautiful.

In an effort to ensure theater education is accessible to all, Northern Stage offers need-based scholarships and payment plans for our education programs. If you would like to apply for a scholarship or set up a payment plan, please email boxoffice@northernstage.org and ask our staff to hold a place for you until the scholarship or payment plan process is complete.
