Morning: DISNEY MUSICAL ADVENTURE

DESCRIPTION: Come sing Disney songs with us! Young actors will experience the art form of musical theater through learning group numbers from beloved Disney musicals. Students will warm up with acting games before diving into songs from shows like The Little Mermaid and The Frozen. A professional choreographer and music director team will help students bring their Disney dreams to life. Disney Musical Adventure will culminate in a final sharing for a limited number of friends and family on Friday, June 23rd at 11:30 AM.
Afternoon: NEW THIS YEAR — LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS! OH MY!

DESCRIPTION: Come explore the animal kingdom with us! Young actors will experience theater through the eyes of their favorite animals, learning group numbers sung by their favorite furry friends. Students will warm up with acting games before diving into songs from shows like The Jungle Book and Cats. A professional choreographer and music director team will help students explore their wild side. Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh my! will culminate in a final sharing for a limited number of friends and family on Friday, June 23rd at 3:30 PM.

WEEK 2
Morning: BROADWAY BOUND!
DATES: June 26-30, 2023
TIME: 9 AM – 12 PM
AGES: 6-8
PRICE: $250

DESCRIPTION: Young actors will be introduced to the art form of musical theater, combining acting, singing, and dancing to tell a story. Students will warm up with acting games before learning songs and dances from popular, age-appropriate Broadway shows. A professional choreographer and music director team will help students explore their curiosity for theater in this safe and fun environment. Broadway Bound! will culminate in a final sharing for a limited number of friends and family on Friday, June 30 at 11:30 AM.
Afternoon: NEW THIS YEAR — GODS, DEMIGODS AND DEMONS
DATES: June 26-30, 2023
TIME: 1 – 4 PM
AGES: 6-8

DESCRIPTION: On Mount Olympus… we will meet the gods! Young actors will experience theater through myths. They will learn group numbers and explore the stories of different Greek and Roman Tales. Students will warm up with acting games before diving into songs from shows like Percy Jackson and Hercules. A professional choreographer and music director team will help students listen to the muses from the underworld to the heavens. Gods, Demigods and Demons will culminate in a final sharing for a limited number of friends and family on Friday, June 30 at 3:30 PM.

CAMPS FOR AGES 9-12
WEEKS 1 & 2
MUSICAL THEATER LAB: Two Week Mini-Intensive
DATES: June 19-30, 2023 (No camp on weekends)
TIME: 1 – 5 PM
AGES: 9-12
PRICE: $500
CAP: 20 Actors
DESCRIPTION: In this high energy camp, actors will rehearse a 30-minute studio production of a musical in just 15 days! This is the perfect camp for actors who look forward to one day participating in our high school Summer Musical Theater Intensive. A professional director/choreographer and music director will guide actors through auditions, table work, blocking scenes, staging group numbers, a dress rehearsal, and a culminating performance for a limited number of friends and family on Friday, June 30 at 4:30 PM.

WEEK 2
IMPROV AND GAMES
DATES: June 26-30, 2023
TIME: 10 AM -1 PM
AGES: 12-14
PRICE: $250
CAP: 20 Actors
DESCRIPTION: In this advanced camp, actors will be introduced to the magic of theater games, improvisation, and creating completely new stories with nothing but their own imaginations and sense of play. Taking advantage of Northern Stage’s vast prop and costume collections, actors will get a chance to be ridiculously creative…or is it creatively ridiculous? A little bit of both! Build confidence and creativity in this freewheeling and fun exploration of what it is to make theater from scratch.

INFORMATION & POLICIES

Class Location
Classes will meet in the Northern Stage Administrative & Production Building, 76 Gates Street, White River Junction, VT, unless otherwise indicated.
Final Performance
On the last day of our classes, family and friends are invited to a showcase, where students can share some of the new skills they have developed over the class session.
Confirmation
An e-mail (or phone call when necessary) will confirm registration, along with the class dates, times, location, driving directions, and any other requirements.
Class Attire/Conduct
Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing they can move in and to work in flat-soled shoes. For safety reasons, we discourage students from wearing flip-flops and Crocs. We recommend layering to adjust to changing temperatures. In order to ensure each member of class a meaningful experience, persistently disruptive behavior will not be permitted. If, after conferencing with parents, a student continues to behave inappropriately, Northern Stage reserves the right to discontinue the student’s attendance in class, with no refund.
Food
Only water, sports drinks, fruit juice, and light snacks are permitted. Those participating in both morning and afternoon camps should pack a lunch. They are welcome to stay at the theater for a supervised brown bag lunch hour.
Teaching Faculty
The teaching faculty includes professional theater artists and experienced drama instructors.

Refunds and Cancellations
Please note that Northern Stage is not able to offer refunds. If you have any questions about your order, please contact the box office before purchasing. Northern Stage reserves the right to cancel a session due to insufficient class enrollment and will refund any payments previously made in this scenario only.
