The special winter concert featured the Ray Vega QuARTet. A native of the South Bronx, Ray Vega (Trumpet/ Flugelhorn) is a Burlington-based world-class Jazz musician and educator, making his Northern Stage debut with Jeremy Hill (bass), Geza Carr (drums), and Evan Allen (piano). The night’s program consisted of original composition, timeless classics from the Great American Songbook, and works by jazz masters John Coltrane and Duke Ellington.

The 3rd annual concert was opened by Ian Gollub’s Upper Valley High School Jazz All Stars. The main set featured headliner Ivan Renta, world-renowned Latin jazz saxophonist and Yamaha recording artist (Tito Puente & Eddie Palmieir’s Masterpiece, In the Heights original movie soundtrack), whose Caribbean Sextet blends the soul of New York jazz with vibrant island rhythms. Don’t miss the chance to experience world-class jazz in the heart of White River Junction! The band features an ensemble of world class musicians, with Angel Subero on trombone, Edsel Gomez on piano, Gregg August on bass, Pablo Bencid on drums, Manolo Mairena on percussion, and Renta on tenor saxophone.

The 2nd annual concert was opened by Ian Gollub’s Upper Valley High School Jazz All Stars. The main set featured Michael Zsoldos, who returned with an electrifying group of world class musicians with a program that spans from Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, to modern Brazilian music, to Ralph Towner and their own original compositions. The Michael Zsoldos Quintet features Joshua Bruneau on trumpet, Michael Zsoldos on tenor and soprano saxophones, Jason Ennis on guitars, Gregg August on double bass, and Mark Walker on drums.

The inaugural Jazz at the Junction concert was opened by Ian Gollub’s Upper Valley High School Jazz All Stars. The main set for the first annual Jazz at the Junction featured music from the album En Diablada by Natalia Bernal. Her electrifying band features Mauricio Zottarelli on drumset, Itaiguara Brañdao on electric bass, Jason Ennis on guitars, and Michael Zsoldos on tenor and soprano saxophones.
