When a high school English class in rural Georgia reads The Crucible, their teacher pushes the students to think more critically about the classic play. As the class starts re-examining the Salem trials, #MeToo allegations erupt at their own school, cracking open their world and assumptions. Is this a witch hunt or a search for truth? Sharp, funny, and startlingly timely, this Tony-nominated drama captures the power and the danger of the next generation.

Patrick Balbo

ENSEMBLE; U/S LEE, MASON

Patrick Balbo is a Dartmouth Theater Major who recently appeared in their Mainstage Production, Legacy of Light. At school, he enjoys acting with the “Callbacks,” and spending time with his fraternity brothers at Gamma Delta Chi. Off campus, Patrick can be found on the stages of his Georgia hometown at The Historic Savannah Theater, and in various roles with the incredible Savannah Cabaret. Some of his favorite roles include Ren McCormack in Footloose, and Prince Topher in Cinderella. This summer, Patrick was in London studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). Chloe Kaitlyn Brown is a theatre artist based in New York City with proud roots in Houston, Texas. An alum of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama (‘23), Chloe is ecstatic to join this company of John Proctor is the Villain! Performing: The Movement’s Children by Ameena Henry (Jaynie, Project Y) , Law and Order: Organized Crime (CBS). New York-based Puerto Rican actress Sidney Diaz is a classically trained performer drawn to emotionally honest, character-driven stories. A graduate of Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare’s Globe, she has portrayed Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Joan in Joan of Arc, and Emilie in The Moors, and appeared in HBO’s Slave Play. Not a Movie. A Play.

Passionate about telling stories that reflect the richness and complexity of Latino communities, Sidney is especially drawn to work that invites audiences to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Outside of acting, her love of travel continually deepens her curiosity about people and cultures, a perspective she brings to every character she portrays.

Caitlin Duffy is so grateful to be back at Northern Stage after having the time of her life goofing around in The Play That Goes Wrong in 2024! Theater: PTP/NYC, Trinity Repertory Company, The Williams Project, Palm Beach Dramaworks, Theater at Monmouth and Centenary Stage Company. TV/Film: The Pitt, Lucky, Good Trouble, S.W.A.T., Bel-Air, 911: Lone Star, Trigger Happy, First Contact, The Tomorrow Job. She’s also collaborated with amazing artists and friends to make two short films, TOOTY/TUTTI and Statue Store. Caitlin grew up in Vermont (and seeing shows at Northern Stage!), received a BA from Middlebury College, an MFA from Brown/Trinity Rep and is based in Brooklyn.

Tristyn Girouard

Tristyn Girouard is so thrilled to be making her Northern Stage debut! Originally from the Bay Area and a current senior at Dartmouth College, she most recently performed as “Whatsername” in Dartmouth’s spring production of American Idiot. Her favorite past productions include Legally Blonde, Legacy of Light, POTUS, Spring Awakening, Into the Woods, and The Sound of Music. Beyond acting, she is passionate about writing and directing films and serves as captain of Dartmouth’s oldest dance troupe, Ujima. She has been fortunate to work with several production companies across film and theater, most recently collaborating with Dartmouth alum and Tony Award-winning producer Luke Katler this past summer. She would like to thank her family, friends, and mentors.

Robert David Grant is thrilled to return to Northern Stage and to collaborate with Sarah Elizabeth Wansley for the third time! Northern Stage credits include Constellations, Sweat, King Lear and as the title role in Macbeth. Theater credits include Geva Theater Center, Yale Rep, The Guthrie, The Pearl, George Street Playhouse, The Mint, Barrington Stage Company, Westside Theater, Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, The Flea and more. TV and film: Succession, The Equalizer, The Orville, and NCIS:NY, as well as the short film What I’d Give You. Robert teaches Acting, Voice, Shakespeare and the Summer Theater Lab at Dartmouth College. Adriana Scalice is thrilled to be making her Northern Stage debut! She is best known for appearing as Catherine Parr in the national tour of SIX and as the standby for Cady, Regina, and Janis in the first national tour of Mean Girls. Most recently, she starred as Anita in West Side Story at the Fulton Theatre and as Vanessa in Signature Theatre’s record-breaking production of In the Heights.
