John Proctor is the Villain

by Kimberly Belflower

directed by Sarah Elizabeth Wansley

SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 11, 2026

English class just turned into a reckoning.

When a high school English class in rural Georgia reads The Crucible, their teacher pushes the students to think more critically about the classic play. As the class starts re-examining the Salem trials, #MeToo allegations erupt at their own school, cracking open their world and assumptions. Is this a witch hunt or a search for truth? Sharp, funny, and startlingly timely, this Tony-nominated drama captures the power and the danger of the next generation.

JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN is made possible in part through the generous support of Bill Schults & Betsy Maislen.
